REPORTS TO: Mine Electrical Foreman
EXEMPT / NON-EXEMPT: NON-EXEMPT
The Mine Electrician will perform electrical repairs, installations, inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical lines, machinery, and equipment throughout the Mine, both on the surface and underground. Energy Fuels is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform electrical repairs to provide continuous operation of machinery and equipment.
- Install and commission high voltage underground/surface transformers, splices, box's, switches.
- Trouble shoot, diagnose problems, and repair instrument & electric equipment underground, and on the surface.
- Participates in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) as required.
- Work with electrical schematics.
- Order materials.
- Completes required maintenance reports and logs.
- Tests all equipment repairs as applicable.
- Must be able to access equipment information using electronic devices (i.e., laptop computer, tablet).
- Use of measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the workplace.
- Comply with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Conducts activities and work in an environmentally responsible manner. Is aware of procedures to minimize impacts to the environment.
- Follows and understands MSHA rules and regulations, environmental rules and regulations, SOP, and work area instructions, participates in safety and environmental activities. Leads by example by adhering to rules and regulations and ensuring compliance to rules and regulations established by the Mine Operations department.
- Must be able to work and communicate with other members of the work team.
- ATF Clearance mandatory for employees around or handling explosives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:
- 3-5 years’ experience in underground mine.
- Basic Computer skills. Familiar and knowledgeable with Microsoft Word and Excel software, which is frequently used for accounting, communication, and Inventory.
- Industrial wiring and process controls and components.
- Troubleshooting skill set is a must.
- Electrical knowledge related to industry process systems.
- A strong attitude for Mine Safety and Health Administration. Employees must be MSHA trained/certified.
PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:
- Continuing education, training of up to date and growing Electrical Industry standards.
- Frequently required to work underground and in confined spaces.
- Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and wet, humid (non-weather) conditions.
- Required to work near moving mechanical parts.
- May be exposed to loud noise levels.
- Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms.
- Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
- On call and call out duty.
- Varying shifts for complete Mine coverage.
- Work in varying environments throughout the Mine.
