Miner A is an experienced miner in underground mining operations including scaling, blasting, drilling, and mucking. Must have previous experience in the underground mining industry and a positive attitude towards safety culture. Energy Fuels is an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/vets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes ownership and accountability to maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Performs drilling, blasting, mucking, and bolting duties. Determines the number of explosives, placement, and firing of explosives with the ability to minimize overbreak and dilution.
  • Operates underground equipment (jumbos, loaders, bolters, jacklegs, trucks, and Slusher).
  • Performs other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of supervision.
  • Maintain line & grade for development ramps and drifts.
  • Takes ownership in muck handling to eliminate muck mixing and ensure delivery of quality ore to the concentrator.
  • Work as an essential member of a production or development team.
  • ATF Clearance is mandatory.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • An experienced leader with at least 3 years of experience as an underground miner.
  • Knowledge of drilling, blasting, mobile equipment and organizing a daily work schedule.
  • A strong communicator.
  • A positive attitude for safe work practices with knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration regulations. Employees must be MSHA trained/certified.

PHYSICAL/SENSORY DEMANDS:

  • Frequently required to work underground and in confined spaces.
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions and wet, humid (non-weather) conditions.
  • Occasionally required to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • May be exposed to loud noise levels.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to use repetitive motion and reach with hands/arms.
  • Requires clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
